How it works

Salt or sodium chloride is applied in many ways such as chlorine production, production of soaps and textiles.  While salt is useful in other spheres of our lives, high sodium consumption is clinically proven to be one of the top High Blood Pressure Causes.

It is vital to note, salt produces Nitric Oxide in our body.  Nitric Oxide is a chemical responsible for many pathological and physiological processes in mammals. Too much of Nitric oxide (NO) can be detrimental and toxic that can contribute to vascular tissue collapse, diabetes, arthritis and other conditions.

Several health organizations recommended to consumers to take on average 4gm of salt a day. On the other hand, it has been estimated that an average person consumes double of the recommended dosage.

How to lower your salt intake

According to Dr. Sanders at University of Maryland, a good indication of too much salt is when a person  can taste it.

First of all, regular table salt is not a pure version of sodium chloride. “Sea salt” or “Gray salt” can be substituted instead of using regular table salt. This is the most wholesome type of salt without any chemicals added to it.

Second, by removing salt shaker from the table or changing it “salt imitator” can dramatically reduce salt consumption.Usually many processed foods, canned foods already contain too much salt, so by staying away from these products and by paying attention to nutritious boxes an average person can regulate daily sodium intake.

In addition, when eating out ask for your meal prepared with minimum or no salt and add it at the table yourself.

Recent studies indicate, even genetically predisposed people to hypertension that eat less salt have lower risk to develop the disease when compared to people who consumed too much salt.

Chances are very good that every day you use a moisturizer on your skin. It’s important to take care of your skin and there’s lots of anti aging skin care products available to help you do that. However it may come as a shock to you to know that many modern skin care products contain chemical ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulphate and this includes big brand-name moisturizers. This may risk your health and you may well be better buying a natural moisturizer.

It is relatively well-known that a chemical called sodium lauryl sulphate is used in many soaps and shampoos. It’s an excellent degreaser and is used by mechanics for degreasing engines. It is also becoming more well-known that sodium lauryl sulphate in products such as soaps and shampoos is bad for your health.

But it’s not nearly so well known that so many big name moisturizers also contain sodium lauryl sulphate, (as well as many of the chemical ingredients) and using these products regularly may cause skin cancer.

A study reported in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology about the effects of using a moisturizer on mice is deeply interesting. The study was originally intended to study the effect of caffeine on mice, however as part of the study a moisturizer was applied to the skin of the mice 5 times a day for 17 weeks. The mice were also given doses of UV radiation to simulate sunlight.

The moisturizers used in the study all contained sodium lauryl sulphate as well as other chemical and petrochemical ingredients such as mineral oil.

In a surprising result, given that this was not what was being studied, the researchers discovered that the risk of skin cancer in mice who received an application of moisturizer was increased by 69 percent.

So they decided to study this again using a moisturizer with no sodium lauryl sulphate or mineral oil. And they found that this time there was no increase in the risk of skin cancer to the mice.

Maybe now you’re starting to see a link between sodium lauryl sulphate and moisturizers and skin cancer and perhaps you’re beginning to consider that you may be better advised to think about purchasing natural moisturizers next time you’re looking for good anti aging skin care products.

Or maybe you’ve just thrown away the moisturizer you have in the cupboard now.

It’s sad to say but there are many chemical and petrochemical ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulphate mineral oil used in so many of the big brand-name anti aging skin care products that you may take for granted and use every day. There are excellent and very safe natural ingredients which are well known to make excellent natural moisturizers. For example there are many oils from fruits and nuts which work well as natural moisturizers. But the big brand-name companies rarely use these because chemicals like sodium lauryl sulphate are much cheaper.

And there are some outstanding natural moisturizers on the market. They use ingredients which are known to be safe and will not put you at risk of skin cancer. One company in particular makes an outstanding range of natural skin care products and chances are you’ve never even heard of it. None of their products contain sodium lauryl sulphate or any other known harmful ingredients.

It’s about time to consider throwing away those big name anti aging skin care products which you may be using right now and which may be putting you at risk of skin cancer or worse. There are excellent natural alternatives such as natural moisturizers which work equally well and generally better and do not risk your health at all.

Benzene Attorney Leukemia Statute of Limitations

Myelodysplastic syndromes, more commonly referred to as MDS, can have an extremely negative impact on a person’s blood. As one of the precursors to leukemia, which is a cancer of the bloodstream, MDS has direct implications on the red and white blood cells, as well as on the bone marrow. Some forms of MDS are easy to manage but others that are difficult to treat may lead to other health complications such as leikemia.

MDS in the blood affects an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 people in the United States yearly. The median age for those commonly affected by the diseases is 65; however, in rare cases, younger adults and children can be diagnosed with this sometimes fatal illness. Although MDS, according to statistics, is more common in men, women are also affected by the diseases.

Causes of MDS Blood Issues?

When a person develops MDS in their bloodstream, this means that their body is not producing enough normal, healthy red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets. In conjunction with the sporadic production of blood cells, the bone marrow usually also makes unformed cells, known as blasts. Blasts typically develop into red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets. When MDS is present in the blood, blasts occur in a curious and abnormal manner causing the cells to develop and function abnormally.

For the most part, the cause of this spontaneous change in the blood cell production and bone marrow condition remains unknown, though scientists and researchers are working vigorously to discover the truth behind MDS and the cancers it causes. However, in certain cases, doctors have been able to link this abnormality to a person’s lengthy exposure to toxic chemicals like benzene, or their exposure to radiation and pesticides. Environmental factors are responsible for these cases that are referred to as secondary MDS or treatment-related MDS.

Symptoms of MDS

The symptoms may vary from person to person depending on the severity of the disease and the impact that the MDS has had on the blood. Some people may not be experiencing symptoms when they receive they initial diagnosis, which makes this news all the more painful. A routine blood test to determine the patient’s blood cell count and it’s relationship to normal may be run to find the disease. Anemia may develop when a person has a low red blood cell count resulting in weakness, exhaustion, pale skin and shortness of breath. Anemia has a significant impact on the blood and, according to reports is the most common form of MDS.

Frequent infections and consistent fevers may result when a person has a low white blood cell count because white blood cells help to fight against infections. Uncontrollable bleeding and easy bruising can also be common symptoms of a low white blood cell count.

Have you experienced some or all of these symptoms and believe you could be at risk of MDS of the blood due to your exposure to benzene? Contact a benzene attorney if you or someone you love has been exposed to any of these risk factors and you believe that you could have aplastic anemia.
